Colourful accents inspired by one of LeBron’s favourite neighbourhood spots, the barbershop, are brought together for this week’s release of the Nike Zoom LeBron III QS “Black and University Red”. This iteration of LeBron’s third signature shoe features a premium black leather upper with tonal patent and nubuck leather overlays at the midfoot and ankle regions. Contrasting hits of ‘university red’, white, and ‘game royal’ are applied to the lace straps, representing the colours of the classic barber pole, while flashes of ‘metallic silver’ are found at both the eyestays and midsole’s Zoom Air bag, a reference to the barber’s tools. The silhouette is then finished with LeBron’s signature branding in a jewelled finish at the tongue medial ankle, while the letters “BBZ” and numbers “330” are embroidered at the medial side of each foot’s mudguard, an ode to his children and hometown of Akron.
