For FW22, we reconnected with our good friends at I’ll Call You Tomorrow to reissue our “Jazz Night” collaborative capsule. The collection imagines an after-hours jazz concert at the fictional “SCONA Strathcona Art Gallery”, an ode to the arts communities in our neighbourhood and the various art movements that accompanied the genre in the 1950’s.
Dubbed “Jazz Night II”, our latest collaboration features a re-release of the “Jazz Night” Tee, this time done up on a vintage-inspired garment dyed silver grey tee with white screen-printed artwork overtop. Alongside the tee, the capsule sees the addition of a cap in midnight black corduroy, inspired by the textured suiting of old jazz musicians, as well as a Nalgene water bottle, an accessory referencing what one may find at a museum gift shop.
In preparation for the capsule’s launch, we were fortunate to bring together friends from around our city for an intimate pop-up to preview the capsule, alongside ICYT’s own FW22 collection. The pop-up was followed by a photoshoot with Edmonton’s Mayor, Amerjeet Sohi, shot by our own team member Vivian Han-Tat, and we couldn’t be more stoked with how it all turned out!
