In 1987, Nike introduced their first sneaker to feature a visible Air unit - the Air Max 1. Originally designed as a running shoe with a focus on speed and lightweight impact, the AM1 grew from a cult classic in the ‘90s & early 2000s to the standalone icon it is today, now marking its 35th anniversary. In celebration of such, the Air Max 1 takes on a new colourway, dubbed “Treeline”. This iteration features a mix of materials at the upper, from its mesh base in ‘dark driftwood’ to the suede and canvas overlays in a mix of ‘treeline’ (green) and tan. Contrasting against the upper’s natural hues, hits of ‘light bordeaux’ are found at the tongue’s branded woven label and at the midfoot Swoosh’s, which are finished in a hairy suede. The silhouette is then completed with golden embroidered branding at the heel, a printed waffle pattern at the insole, alongside a yellowed midsole and black rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 NH “Treeline” releases tomorrow (May 7) in-store at 12 PM and the remaining sizes will be available online on Monday.
