Australian skate label Butter Goods and PUMA team up this weekend for their inaugural collection, centering on two collaborative footwear silhouettes and a range of apparel taking inspiration from sports marketing of the late ‘90s and a crossover between vintage tennis & skateboarding merch. The Basket, the first of two footwear styles, features a unique ‘dark denim’ blue corduroy construction at the upper, with cream accents found at the suede Formstrip and midsole, as well as collaborative branding at the tongue’s woven label and at the heel’s metallic gold stamp. The second style, dubbed the Slipstream Lo, revives one of PUMA’s most iconic basketball silhouettes from the ‘80s, making its return with a crisp ‘whisper white’ leather upper, ‘cadmium green’ trim at the midfoot’s Formstrip, as well as perforated details throughout and gold foil branding at the ankle. Select apparel from the collaboration helps to round off the collection, with a tee & crewneck that feature nostalgia-infused graphics pulling from PUMA’s sportswear archive.
